Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner has confirmed that Wolves target Nahki Wells can leave the club this month.
Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner has told TEAMtalk that striker Nahki Wells has been put up for sale ahead of the summer transfer deadline later this month.
The Terriers have enjoyed a dream start to life in the Premier League with wins over Crystal Palace and Newcastle United, but manager David Wagner may look to offload some players before the end of the transfer window.
With Steve Mounie scoring twice on the opening day, Laurent Depoitre arriving from Porto and Collin Quaner also at Wagner’s disposal, Nahki Wells has seemingly dropped to fourth choice in the striking ranks at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Now, Wagner has confirmed to TEAMtalk that Wells is in fact up for sale ahead of the transfer deadline, and having successfully undergone a small surgery amid recent injury issues, the Bermudan hitman could be on his way out of Huddersfield this month.
“First of all, I’m very happy that his small surgery was very successful,” said Wagner. “I’m very happy that my medical department gave me the answer that he will be back in four-to-six weeks so this means he is back nearly after the international break. The scenario is that we have high quality in our offensive line. This means I’m still open to speak if there are any serious offers for him.”
“Is he on the market? Yes, he is. Will he move? I don’t know. The window is open so we will see what happens. Nahki is totally aware about his situation, I had an honest conversation with him regarding his future at the football club, what my thoughts are, what the club’s thoughts are, now we will see which serious offers will come on the table then we have to decide,” he added.
Wells, 27, joined Huddersfield from Yorkshire rivals Bradford City in January 2014 having hit 53 goals in 112 during his time at Valley Parade, and his record for Huddersfield now stands at 48 goals in 152 appearances.
With ten goals last season, Wells played his part in Huddersfield’s historic promotion to the Premier League, with his pace on the shoulder of the last defender a constant threat to Championship defences.

Now though, Wells looks to be leaving Huddersfield, and one club heavily linked with him is Wolverhampton Wanderers, with the Daily Mail reporting just days ago that Wolves are expressing an interest in landing Wells this summer.
Wolves may have already brought in attacking players such as Diogo Jota and Leo Bonatini, but landing a proven Championship striker like Wells could be the difference in their pursuit of promotion – and Huddersfield’s admission that he is up for sale gives them the perfect chance to land him.
