Kevin Mirallas has been waiting for his chance at Everton, since David Unsworth took charge.

Everton were beaten 5-1 by Atalanta in the Europa League, and Mirallas was handed the start that he has been craving.
But the Belgian winger failed to take his chance, and it looks like he could be sitting on the sidelines for a long time yet – if Unsworth remains in charge.

“The players who have been asking me for opportunities to play in the first team were given that,” the Everton caretaker boss said.
“I asked the players to make it difficult for me to leave them out of the team on Sunday and the majority have probably made it very easy for me.”
While Unsworth’s comments were surely not only directed at Mirallas, they do not make good reading for the winger.

Mirallas’ reprieve may come from Everton placing a new manager in charge.
Unsworth’s position at the helm at Goodison Park is looking precarious, after winning just one of his six matches in charge.
Everton have been linked with a whole host of different managers since sacking Ronald Koeman, but they have not been able to find a replacement for the Dutchman.
Everton are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Southampton at St. Mary’s.
