Everton defender Brendan Galloway has not played at all since Marco Silva arrived.

David Unsworth, Caretaker Manager of Everton looks on during the Premier League match between Everton and Watford at Goodison Park on November 5, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

David Unsworth has suggested in the Liverpool Echo that Brendan Galloway wants to leave Everton in the January transfer window.

Galloway is currently coming back from injury at Everton, but he does not want to take too many risks in his recovery.

The youngster has been out with a hamstring problem for weeks, but even though he is edging closer to fitness, the Everton man is being held back.

Galloway is keen to move out on loan in January, as he seeks greater first-team chances.

And Unsworth said: “Unfortunately he has taken a little bit longer with his hamstring so we are cautious with that, with a view to January.

“We don’t want to bring him back too early. He is working hard and should be ready in a couple of weeks.”

Galloway has not featured at all for Everton’s senior squad this season, and his future is now under serious doubt.

Galloway has been loaned out to Everton over the past two seasons, but he has made minimal impacts at both West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland.

With Everton strengthening in defence since Marco Silva took charge, competition for places at the back is only increasing.

If Galloway does leave on loan, it seems a club in the Championship will be his most likely destination.
