Everton youngster wins praise after under-23 performance

Everton youngster Josh Bowler has earned the praise of coach David Unsworth.
Bowler provided both of the assists for Bassala Sambou and Manasse Mampala to score for the under-23s at the weekend.
Bowler’s contribution helped Everton to a 2-1 win over Sheffield United after the Blades had taken the lead.
The 2017 signing from QPR was picked out by Unsworth after the game.
Unsworth told Everton’s official website: “Josh Bowler was terrific. We need to get the ball to his feet in the final third and that’s where you see his magic.
“He did great for both goals, he’s been out for a couple of weeks but that 90 minutes and the two assists will do him the world of good.”

Bowler, 19, plays as a winger and was making his 13th start for the under-23s this season.
He has two goals to his name, the most recent of which came back in early November.
His performance at the weekend will serve as a big confidence boost to him, and could spark him to kick on.
Everton need more consistency from him if he is going to push for first team football, but his latest display was a promising sign.
