The 20-year-old defender is becoming a regular in the Everton side.
Everton caretaker manager David Unsworth has praised Jonjoe Kenny, stating that the young defender looks at home in the Premier League.
Kenny previously played under Unsworth when he was in charge of Everton’s U23 team and the right-back has started Everton’s last four Premier League games in a row.
Unsworth told the club’s official website: “Jonjoe is getting better every week, isn’t he. He is a terrific talent. He is somebody I know so well and he looks at home in the Premier League.”
Despite not being especially tall, Kenny is a very committed player who is capable of making precisely-timed challenges with regularity.
In addition, the youngster, who was part of the England squad that won the U20 World Cup earlier this year, provides a regular attacking threat as he frequently pushes forwards and delivers dangerous crosses.
It is clear that Kenny is still rather raw but the 20-year-old is continuing to develop and will certainly benefit immensely from being involved in such high-profile fixtures, with Everton aiming to move up the table quickly.
Should Unsworth not be selected as Everton’s permanent manager and a different candidate is brought in then Kenny could well lose his place in the team, especially with the January transfer window edging ever closer.
For now, though, Kenny is relishing playing regularly in the Premier League and gaining valuable experience.
