Everton recruited the young Dutchman last summer.

Markelo signed for the Toffees on a three-year deal from Dutch side Volendam last summer.
The versatile teenager can play in midfield and defence, although Unsworth believes he knows Markelo’s best position already and has done from the start.

Unsworth said: “Nathangelo Markelo was outstanding when he went into midfield on Monday and that’s the position we signed him for, we just had to play him at right-back because there has been nobody else.
“We actually brought him in to replace Beni Baningime and that half an hour spell on Monday night in there was why we brought him to the club and he was outstanding.”
Markelo, 19, is a Dutch youth international, most recently figuring for their under-19s.
At Everton he is already playing for the under-23s, where he has made 13 appearances this season.
Making a jump into the first team at Everton isn going to be tough but his versatility will aid his chances.
Winning over Unsworth is half the battle, and Markelo appears to have succeeded in that regard already.
