Everton teenager Hornby led the Scotland attack at the Toulon Tournament.

Everton Under-23’s coach David Unsworth has shared his delight with the club’s official website after striker Fraser Hornby shone at this summer’s Toulon Tournament with Scotland.
The 18-year-old played in every match for Scotland’s Under-21 side, leading the line against the likes of England, France, Turkey and South Korea, as well as scoring against Togo.
Hornby helped Scotland reach the semi-finals of the competition where they lost to Turkey, with England going on to win the competition with a 2-1 victory over Mexico in the final.

Unsworth was full of praise for Hornby – who made his full Everton debut in the Europa League against Apollon Limassol – and expects him to continue to improve.
“Fraser had a good tournament,” Unsworth said. “I watched his games as well. It was tough when England played Scotland because we want him to do well but we have to be patriotic too! But I was delighted for him to play so well.
“For him at his age to be leading the line for Scotland’s Under-21s is terrific. Fraser has come a long, long way in a very short space of time. There is lots and lots of work still to do with him but that is work he will get done.
“We have really high hopes for him and we will give him every opportunity to showcase the talent that we think he has got.”

Despite his tender age, Hornby made the step up into Unsworth’s Under-23 side from the Under-18’s, scoring three goals and laying on two assists in 13 Premier League 2 outings.
It remains to be seen whether he will continue his development under Unsworth in the reserve side during 2018-19, or if the Toffees fancy his development will grow more out on loan.
