Everton won the Premier League Cup on Wednesday night.

Everton coach David Unsworth has told the club’s official website of how he’s been blown away by Morgan Feeney’s grit and determination.
The Toffees won their final home game of the Premier League season with a 2-0 victory over Burnley on Friday, but there has still been some action at Goodison Park.
Everton’s Under-23’s were in action on Wednesday night, taking on Newcastle United in the Premier League Cup final, just weeks after winning Premier League 2.
Defender Feeney scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win for Everton, meaning they have completed the double this season in a superb campaign.
Captain Feeney celebrated the win with his boyhood club, having been born in nearby Bootle, growing up supporting the Toffees.
The 20-year-old has overcome a six-month lay-off from a patella tendon injury to star for Everton’s Under-23’s, and has now earned praise from coach Unsworth.

Unsworth felt it was perfect that Feeney scored at the Glwadys Street End, and praised his grit and determination to get back from his injury, admitting he’s seen anything like his desire to play through the pain, calling him an example to teammates.
“It was quite fitting that Morgan got the winning goal. It was our skipper at the Gwladys Street End, close to where he sits!” said Unsworth. “He has had horrendous knee injuries – injuries that could have finished a lesser player.”
“The work he’s done with the physios, the sports science department, he’s shown a grit and determination to fight through the pain barrier – I’ve never known anything like it for a young player. He leads by example,” he added.
