Anthony Gordon commited his future to Premier League outfit Everton despite interest from Bundesliga duo Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

David Unsworth is delighted by the progress Anthony Gordon has made at Everton after the teenager committed his future to the Merseyside club, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.
The Liverpool-born 18-year-old has been in top form for The Toffees reserve teams this season, forcing his way into the U23 squad. And Gordon has been instrumental with Unsworth’s high-flying side sitting top of the Premier League 2 table and aiming to win the competition for the second time in three years.
There had been plenty of doubts about Gordon’s future, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund hovering, but he silenced talk over a potential exit by recently signing a deal until 2023.
And Unsworth is thrilled – not just with Gordon’s decision to stay but by his developments over the last few months.
“I’m delighted,” Unsworth said.
“His performances have been fantastic for us, he’s a great lad and we’re delighted to have got his signature on a contract. He’s got a bright future.

“His attitude and his work-rate has improved 100% from where it was six months ago. We call it the penny dropping because there is a massive step-up from under-18s to u-23s – I think it’s the biggest jump in football in terms of the demands and fitness and being consistent.
“You can get away with a lot at u-18s level that you can’t at this level. But he is at the level now and, next season, I’m looking forward to working with him, he’s an exciting player.”
Gordon came off the bench as Everton drew 0-0 with Arsenal’s U23s on Monday and Unsworth believes that a regular place in the starting XI is on the cards if the versatile forward continues to improve at a rapid rate of knots.
He will be hoping to follow Jonjoe Kenny, Tom Davies and co into Marco Silva’s first-team soon too.
