The Toffees academy ace swapped joined Goodison Park from fellow Premier League side Newcastle in 2017.

It may be doom and gloom with regards to Everton’s first team at present but things are looking a little more optimistic at Under-23s level as David Unsworth’s charges remain in pole position for the Premier League 2 title.
On Monday night, the Toffees played out a goalless draw against Arsenal’s U23s, and although goalscoring chances were few and far between, they retained their four-point lead over Brighton & Hove Albion.
The south coast side were pegged back in a 2-2 draw at Blackburn Rovers so, with three games remaining of the campaign, Everton are within reach of glory.
Speaking after the game, U23s boss David Unsworth spoke out about the game before praising central defender Lewis Gibson, who as well as helping his side to a clean sheet, also forced a save from Gunners goalkeeper Dejan Iliev with a well struck free kick.

“He’s got that in his locker, he’s got a lovely left foot,” Unsworth said of the reported £6million signing from Newcastle United (Liverpool Echo) after the game. “I am a bit frustrated but you can’t fault the lads’ desire and effort. We’ll regroup and we’ll go again.”
Everton U23s are back in action on Saturday when they host Sunderland in the last 16 of the Premier League Cup at Southport, while their next league game is on Sunday 7 April with a trip to Manchester City.
