Everton forward Oumar Niasse scored a brace for the Toffees’ under-21 side last night.

David Unsworth has told Everton’s official website that the whole of the under-23 side were chanting Oumar Niasse’s name in the dressing room after their draw last night.

Everton’s under-21 side drew 2-2 with Crewe in the EFL Trophy yesterday, with Niasse handed a rare start.

The Senegalese striker appears to have no future in Everton’s first-team, but he remains popular with his teammates.

The Toffees front man scored a brace yesterday, as Everton managed to draw 2-2.

And Unsworth was full of praise for the 29-year-old, as he put in so much effort.

“Oumar gives you everything he’s got,” said Unsworth. “The lads love him and they were all singing his name in the dressing room at the end!

“The man is just infectious. His attitude is incredible and he got his goals tonight.”

Niasse has not been considered for Everton’s first-team this term, despite their struggles up-front.

The forward has previously looked short of the quality required to play regularly for Everton, and it seems that Marco Silva has deemed him surplus to requirements.

Whether Niasse’s brace last night will make Silva consider putting him back into Everton’s first-team remains to be seen, but that seems unlikely.

The Toffees are next in action against Southampton, when it would be a surprise if Niasse even made his side’s match day squad.
