Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has been defended by his former Liverpool teammate David Thompson on Twitter following Chris Sutton’s comments.
Former Celtic striker Sutton has said on BT Sport that he would give Rangers manager Gerrard 4 out of 10 for what he has done at the Gers this season.
The Liverpool legend was appointed the Rangers manager in the summer of 2018.
The Gers could not win the Scottish League Cup, have been knocked out of the Scottish Cup and are also struggling to keep up with bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic in the race for the Scottish Premiership title.
Former Celtic striker Sutton does not believe that Gerrard is having a good season at Rangers and has marked the ex-England international 4 out of 10.
Thompson played with Gerrard at Liverpool, and the former midfielder has mocked Sutton for his comments on the Rangers manager, as well for his remarks on the size of Celtic and Leicester City.
Earlier this month, Sutton said on BT Sport that Celtic reserves are bigger than Premier League club Leicester.
