West Ham United should make a move for Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel in the summer transfer window.

West Ham United co-chairman David Sullivan was impressed with Kasper Schmeichel’s performance against his club.

Schmeichel played a key role in Leicester City’s victory over West Ham at the London Stadium last weekend.

The 30-year-old Denmark international made as many as seven saves, as the Foxes got the better of the Hammers 3-2 last Saturday afternoon.

West Ham co-chairman Sullivan was impressed with the performance of the 30-year-old and wrote on the club’s official website: “In parts of the second half we were very good, but so was their goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, who made world-class saves from Andy Carroll.”

Summer move for Kasper Schmeichel?

Leicester’s 2016-17 Premier League campaign has not been great, but one player who cannot be blamed is Kasper Schmeichel.

The former Manchester City goalkeeper has been consistent and has made some important saves.

Schmeichel seems happy at the King Power Stadium, but West Ham should make a move for the ex-Leeds United man.

The Hammers are a bigger club than Leicester, and with their ambition of playing in Europe regularly in the coming years, they would be able to at least tempt the goalkeeper into considering their offer.

Adrian is West Ham’s first-choice goalkeeper at the moment, but the Spaniard has made mistakes this season. Darren Randolph is an able deputy, but the Republic of Ireland international is the second choice for a reason.

Schmeichel will be major signing for West Ham. Not only would they get a Premier League winner in their squad, but his experience of playing in the Champions League this season would also prove useful in the coming years.
