West Ham United midfielder Dimitri Payet has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid recently.
David Sullivan has told West Ham United’s official website that he has no intention of cashing in on Dimitri Payet.
Payet’s form appears to have dipped for West Ham so far this season, with the attacking midfielder not being as influential as he was during his first campaign at the London Stadium.
There have been some suggestions that the 29-year-old could be set to leave West Ham, with some of Europe’s biggest clubs interested.
However, Sullivan insists that West Ham have no intention of allowing Payet to leave the London Stadium in the near future.
“Dimitri has had an outstanding year and has become a vital player for France and I am so proud that he is a West Ham player,” Sullivan said.
“He has played 16 times for his country in 2016, scoring seven goals and assisting five more, and inspiring them to the final of the European Championship.
“Dimi signed a new long-term contract in February, pledging his future to this club, and it is very much our intention that he remains with us for years to come.”
Payet has spent the international break representing France, and he scored on his nation’s way to victory over Sweden.
Payet is also likely to be in France’s team for their friendly against the Ivory Coast, which takes place tomorrow.
When Payet does return to West Ham, he is set to be part of their starting line-up in Slaven BIlic’s side’s next match.
West Ham take on an unbeaten Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane at the weekend, knowing that they could slip into the relegation zone if they are beaten by their North London rivals.
