Arsenal legend David Seaman has told talkSPORT that he would be delighted if Arsene Wenger signed another deal at the club.

Wenger celebrated 20 years in charge at the club recently, making him the second-longest serving manager in the Premier League’s history.

He is into the final year of his current deal at the Emirates and so far it is unknown whether he will stay beyond that point.

Opinion among the fanbase is split, with some keen to see him leave and a new man come in and others hoping he will extend his stay in London.

Seaman is firmly in the latter category, telling talkSPORT he would be delighted were the Frenchman to sign a new improved deal.

“For me, he is a great manager and if he signed another contract I would be delighted. I have worked with him, I know how good he is,” he told the radio station.

Whether Wenger does decide to stay at Arsenal will likely be heavily dependent on how they fare this season.

A strong campaign for them in which they challenge for the title or more will likely convince him into extending his long stay at the club.

In contrast, if they were to endure a disappointing campaign like last season then Wenger and the club may decide next summer is the perfect time to part ways.
