Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has been chatting about his former Arsenal teammate Patrick Vieira and his chances of becoming the Gunners’ manager.
Vieira’s Crystal Palace side are flying in the Premier League at the moment, and their most recent result was an exceptional 3-0 win against Arsenal.
As you can imagine, Palace’s triumph over the Gunners has led to questions about the Frenchman potentially becoming the manager of Arsenal one day.
Seaman was asked about Vieira’s future, and he thinks there’s a good chance that Vieira ends up in the hotseat at the Emirates at some point.
What’s been said?
Seaman gave his verdict on Vieira potentially getting the Arsenal job.
“There’s a good chance because of the experience he’s gaining. I’m not wishing bad on Mikel, but it’s something I thought of before Mikel to be honest. His experience in America, in France, I thought he might’ve been a better fit, but obviously, it’s totally different now,” Seaman said.
“You hear from the lads on England duty and how they speak about Patrick, they love him, he’s projected his character onto them and he’s given them great advice. To have someone of that quality as manager, you must get some great advice from him.”

Inevitable
Unless Mikel Arteta has his eye on an Arsene Wenger-esque 20-year run as Arsenal manager, then surely it’s inevitable that Vieira gets this job at some point.
The Frenchman is Arsenal through and through, and he knows the club better than almost anyone in world football.
If Mikel Arteta leaves this post in the next few years, then surely Vieira will be top of the Gunners’ shortlist, especially after doing such a fantastic job with Palace.
