Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has been full of praise for Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah as he named his Player of the Year.
Seaman was holding an unofficial awards ceremony on his podcast, and while Thomas Tuchel won his vote for Manager of the Year and Edouard Mendy got the nod for Goalkeeper of the Year, Salah was his pick for the best player of 2021.
Seaman was blown away by Salah’s consistency, and he claims that even though he’s widely discussed as the best player on the planet these days, he still doesn’t get the recognition he deserves.
What’s been said about Salah?
Seaman named the Egyptian as his Player of the Year.
“Next up is Player of the Year. For me, one person stands out above everybody else, and that’s Salah. He’s just done it all the time hasn’t he? And he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves,” Seaman said.

Deserves more credit
While everyone appreciates Salah as a top player, it’s fair to say that he does deserve a bit more credit from the wider footballing world.
Yes, he’s seen as a class act, but this is truly a once in a generation footballer.
The fact that he finished seventh on the Ballon d’Or voting list is nothing short of farcical, while it’s also laughable that he only has one Premier League Player of the Month award to his name this season.
Salah is doing things that simply aren’t normal, and it’s about time everyone recognised just how incredible some of his feats are.
