
David Seaman has praised Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez on Sky Sports News (10:51am, September 26, 2021) for the penalty incident against Manchester United at Old Trafford and believes that Arsenal are missing him.
The former Arsenal goalkeeper was impressed by Martinez during Villa’s 1-0 win against United away from home at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday.
Kortney Hause scored the only goal of the match in the 88th minute with a powerful header.
Hause also gave away a penalty deep into injury time.
United attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes stepped up to his take the spot kick, but the Portugal international could not keep it on target.
Just before the penalty, United and Villa players were near the spot.
Martinez was caught on camera telling United and Portugal international forward Cristiano Ronaldo to take the spot kick.

The former Arsenal goalkeeper, who joined Villa from the Gunners in the summer of 2020, also celebrated the miss from Fernnades as if he had saved it.
Seaman said about Martinez on Sky Sports News (10:51am, September 26, 2021): “Martinez is like he has got a nice fiery spirit to him.
“I have seen him do it in shootouts before where he tries to get up close to the person who is taking the penalty. To be fair, he is proving a great loss for Arsenal, if I am honest.”
Martinez has been superb for Villa and is the number one between the posts.
The Argentina international is a very good shot-stopper, and he is also able to spray good passes.
Martinez is a very good and confident goalkeeper who will be key to Villa’s success this season.
