David Prutton suggests that Leeds United should look at Wolverhampton Wanderers for inspiration in the summer transfer window.

The former Leeds midfielder has also urged the West Yorkshire outfit to back new head coach Marcelo Bielsa in the summer transfer window.

Prutton has pointed out how Wolverhampton Wanderers achieved success last season, as Nuno’s side spent quite a bit of money last summer and won the Championship title to clinch automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Prutton told The Yorkshire Evening Post: “Let’s be honest, the squad is a decent squad but is it a Championship winning squad? You’d probably say not.”
“Obviously they are not going to spend 20 million on one player but the money needs to be made available because when you look at Wolves last season and you can chuck 12, 13 or 14 million quid at a player it gives you a hell of a chance,” added Prutton.

Obvious observation
Prutton’s observation about the current Leeds squad is quite obvious. The West Yorkshire club’s performances and results last season, especially in the second half, underline the need for Bielsa to make changes.
Leeds fans will agree with Prutton about the support needed for Bielsa. The Argentine is a brilliant coach, but he needs the right kind of players to weave his magic.
What Wolves did last season in terms of making big signings is probably not going to happen at Leeds, who have a transfer budget of £20 million, as reported by The Mirror.
