David Prutton has commented on Kemar Roofe’s role at Leeds United.
Pundit David Prutton has hailed Plymouth Argyle playmaker Graham Carey, suggesting to Sky Sports that he can play at a higher level – but noted how Kemar Roofe has been forced to change his game since joining Leeds.
Plymouth are running away with League Two right now as they sit top of the table, seven points clear of second placed Carlisle United, with midfielder Carey stealing the headlines for Derek Adams’ side.

The Irishman, 27, has hit eight goals in just 16 games this season, with the former Celtic youngster becoming one of the stars of League Two, prompting suggestions that he could play at a higher level than League Two.
Plymouth may well go up to League One, but Championship teams may well be looking at Carey as a possible transfer target, and pundit David Prutton has had his say on the playmaker.
Prutton has told Sky Sports that he thinks Carey has done enough to attract interest this season, but used Leeds new boy Kemar Roofe as something of a warning for Carey.

Roofe, 23, hit 26 goals for Oxford United in League Two last season, becoming one of the Football League’s top young players before earning a move to Elland Road, with Leeds paying £3m to land him according to BBC Sport.
So far, Roofe has yet to score for Leeds in 17 appearances for the club, and whilst his performances have been improving of late, he’s still waiting to open his account for Leeds, with Prutton suggesting that the big change is a switch in role for the forward.
Ex-Leeds man Prutton suggests that League Two to the Championship is a huge leap, and sometimes requires having to play with less freedom – as Roofe has done for Leeds, as he’s played out on the left of midfield where he’s had to track back more than he did for Oxford.

“Plymouth’s Graham Carey isn’t a new name to jump out at me but he’s definitely a player that people will be watching,” said Prutton. “He’s been given the confidence by Derek Adams to impress and being top of the league always helps.”
“It’s such a big leap though from League Two up the divisions as we’ve seen with Kemar Roofe, who was so good with Oxford last season but has to play a role with less freedom for Leeds. I think Carey definitely has the technical attributes and after that it’s all down to attitude,” he added.
