Have Leeds United lost the element of surprise?

David Prutton has claimed to The Yorkshire Evening Post that Leeds United might find it harder to win Premier League promotion next season.
The Whites were given a very early boost with regards to the 2019-20 campaign by keeping Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road for another year.
Leeds looked on course for automatic promotion for so long last season, but ultimately had to settle for the playoffs, which were spoiled by Derby County in the semi-finals.
Bielsa’s side are favourites to go up next season but, because of how well they did last term, former United ace Prutton reckons it’ll be harder for the legendary Argentine coach to surprise teams next time around.
He told The Yorkshire Evening Post: “For Leeds, there’s nothing in that division to be fearful about though we all know that it is such a competitive division.
“The reason Leeds are favourites is because of how well they did last year but I think the thing they have got to be wary of is that last season they were a surprise package and while I’m not saying people will have now worked them out, they might know what’s coming and forewarned is forearmed so it will be an even bigger ask to make sure they go up in an automatic spot.
“But with Bielsa in charge, you get the feeling that he is as good as anyone around and that he can take them up.”
Bielsa staying is a huge factor in how Leeds will do next term, but owner Andrea Radrizzani must do his best to give him and Director of Football Victor Orta a good budget.
Injuries undeniably hindered Bielsa’s side last term and, with a bigger, deeper squad, anything is possible next term.
