Wolverhampton Wanderers and Middlesbrough will face each other in the Championship this weekend.

Former Leeds United and Nottingham Forest midfielder David Prutton has predicted on Skysports.com that Wolverhampton Wanderers will fail to win against Middlesbrough at home this weekend.

Wolves will take on Middlesbrough at the Molineux Stadium in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Prutton has backed Boro to pick up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 3-2 victory.

“I think Middlesbrough will be expected to go and win here but it won’t be as straightforward as that,” Prutton wrote on Skysports.com. “I’ll be very intrigued to see how Nuno gets on at Wolves with his new players.

“Both clubs have spent plenty of money and I think they’ll be looking to attack at home. It’s very well poised and both sides will want to set their stall out early on with a victory at Molineux.”

A footnote added: “Prutton predicts: 2-3 (40/1 with Sky Bet).”

Wolves have made a number of signings in the summer transfer window so far, and it will be interesting to see how they fare in their opening Championship game of the season.

The Wanderers will be aiming to finish in the top six of the league this season, and for that to happen, home matches will be important.

Middlesbrough have one of the best squads in the Championship, and they will head into Saturday afternoon’s match high on confidence.

Boro got relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season, and Garry Monk’s side are one of the top favourites to get promoted to the Premier League at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
