David Prutton has predicted on Skysports.com that Leeds United will lose against Middlesbrough at home in the Championship this weekend.

The West Yorkshire outfit will take on Middlesbrough at Elland Road in the league on Sunday afternoon.

Former Leeds midfielder Prutton has backed Garry Monk’s side to pick up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 2-1 win.

“Leeds looked superb earlier in the season but things have gone badly wrong for Thomas Christiansen and his side, and all of a sudden this game on Sunday is a big, big occasion for them,” Prutton wrote on Skysports.com. “That being said, I think Boro are in good form and will get all three points.”

A footnote added: “Prutton predicts: 1-2 with Britt Assombalonga to score first.”

Middlesbrough did not start the season strongly, but they are in good form at the moment and will head into the match at Elland Road with confidence.

Boro have a strong squad and have to considered as one of the main contenders for automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season.

Leeds may not be in great form at the moment, but the Whites have home advantage this weekend – and that could play a key role in the final outcome of the match.

The game will also see Monk return to Elland Road for the first time since leaving Leeds at the end of last season.
