Former Leeds United midfielder David Prutton has predicted on Skysports.com that Sheffield Wednesday will fail to win this weekend.

Wednesday will take on Derby County away from home at the Pride Park Stadium in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

The Owls will head into the match on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Bolton Wanderers away from home in the league.

Former Wednesday and Nottingham Forest midfielder Prutton believes that Derby will win the match 1-0 against Carlos Carvalhal’s side on Saturday afternoon.

“Derby rose to the occasion last week against Nottingham Forest and got a great win against their big rivals to really boost their confidence,” Prutton wrote on Skysports.com.

“Gary Rowett’s side have been very inconsistent this season but he’ll hope they can kick on from here. They’re up against another side who will feel they should be up there, though, in Sheffield Wednesday.

“Despite their great win against Leeds they still appear to be a little bit shaky, and I feel they’ll lose again on Saturday.”

A footnote added: Prutton predicts: 2-1.”

Gary Rowett manager of Derby gives instructions during the Sky Bet Championship match between Derby County and Wolverhampton at iPro Stadium on August 12, 2017 in Derby, England.

Wednesday have one of the best and strongest squads in the Championship, and the Owls will be confident of bouncing back from the defeat to Bolton.

Carvalhal’s side will find it hard to win against Derby, who are also aiming to finish in the playoffs this season.

The match at the Pride Park Stadium on Saturday promises to be a competitive but cagey affair, and one should not surprised if it ends in a draw.
