Aston Villa travel to face Burton Albion in the Championship on Tuesday night.

While the Brewers’ position a few places above the bottom three in the Championship will come as little surprise to many, Villa go into this contest looking to move closer to where many expected them to be this season.

Steve Bruce’s men are currently ninth in the table, seven points off the summit after a slow start that looks a lot better after two wins in their most recent league outings.
And while Prutton suggested that it appears that the Villans boss has started to find the formula to turn things around and he expects their unbeaten run to continue, he explained that it may still be a potentially frustrating night for the away side.

“Burton held QPR to a good draw at Loftus Road at the weekend, and you feel Nigel Clough would take a point in every away game this season. They’ll need to get their wins at home though if they want to survive,” he told Sky Sports while explaining why he is expecting a 1-1 draw.
“Aston Villa have had a couple of great wins in the league and it finally looks like Steve Bruce might be getting things right. But I think Burton will hold them to a draw.”
If Villa do hope to establish themselves as the promotion contenders that many expected them to be before the start of the campaign, then handing Burton their first defeat on their own ground since the opening day of the campaign is surely a must.
Bruce’s men face bottom side Bolton at the weekend, so going into the international break having picked up 12 points out of a possible 12 in the four games leading up to the break is an achievable target – and surely a target they should be looking to achieve if they want to swiftly move themselves into the promotion picture.
