David Prutton has predicted on Skysports.com that Sunderland will fail to win against Birmingham City away from home this evening.

Sunderland will take on Birmingham at St. Andrew’s Stadium in the Championship in a few hours’ time.

Former Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Prutton believes that the Black Cats will draw the game with the Blues.

Prutton wrote on Skysports.com: “This is a massive game at St Andrew’s. Both these sides are in the relegation zone and desperate for a victory to boost their chances of survival.

“A defeat would not be terminal by any means, as it’s still far too early in the season for that, but it would provide a huge boost for either side if they can claim the win. For some reason, though, I just have a feeling that this will end goalless.”

A footnote added: “Prutton predicts: 0-0.”

Birmingham are struggling for survival in the Championship at the moment and are in danger of getting relegated to League One at the end of the season.

The Blues are currently second from bottom in the standings with just 24 points from 28 matches, a point behind 21st-placed Hull City.

Sunderland are not having a good season either, and just like Birmingham, the Black Cats are also in the relegation zone at the moment and could go down to League One.

Chris Coleman’s side third from bottom in the standing at the moment with only 25 points from 28 matches.

Birmingham are unbeaten in seven home league matches against Sunderland, according to BBC Sport.
