David Prutton has told Sky Sports that Leeds United will get promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season.

The former Leeds midfielder believes that Marcelo Bielsa’s side will clinch automatic promotion from the Championship.

Prutton has also predicted Norwich City to finish in the top two of the Championship table this season, and believes that Sheffield United will get promoted via the playoffs.

Prutton told Sky Sports: “1st) Norwich, 2nd) Leeds. The freedom with which Norwich are playing is superb to see. They have a gap and they aren’t going to mess it up from here.

“I know Leeds suffered a setback at the weekend but every time you expect them to fall away they come back stronger. I think they will just edge it.”

Prutton added: “It will probably go to the final day of the season to sort the final spot, but I think Derby are back on form now they have a fit squad again.

“The two sides battling for automatic promotion behind Norwich right now are a cut above the rest. I’d back either going into the play-offs, so Sheffield United for me.”

Promotion race

Norwich are at the top of the Championship table at the moment with 84 points from 40 matches.

The Canaries are seven points clear of second-placed Sheffield United and are pretty much set for automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season.

Norwich are playing good football and are winning matches, and it is hard to see Daniel Farke’s side collapse in the final weeks of the campaign.

Leeds are a point behind second-placed United in third place, and the Whites can certainly go on a winning run in the coming weeks and overtake the Blades.
