The former Leeds United midfielder has been praising their win against Brentford at the weekend.
Leeds United defeated Brentford at the weekend, claiming a 1-0 win against the Bees at Elland Road. Garry Monk’s side were not in their best form but managed to do enough to come away from the game with all three points.
It was a game settled by a late headed effort from Kyle Bartley. Speaking on the EFL Goals Show after the Saturday (17/12/2016) fixtures former Leeds midfielder David Prutton explained how he was pleased to see Leeds finding a way to win a game without start striker Chris Wood present:
“They needed to find a different way of scoring.

“We need to see someone stepping up and taking responsibility. We’ve got Kyle Bartley here, a big player for them defensively. Can he do it the other end? You bet. It’s a wonderful run.
“It was another way of winning for Leeds United.”
It was undoubtedly a tough fixture for Leeds and in the end, they would have felt fortunate to bag all three points from a difficult fixture.

But the goal showed a degree of inventiveness from Leeds, with a short corner and then some real desire from their defender to get his head on the ball and win the game for Leeds.
There is a sense this Leeds side are never out of a game, as proven by their incredible record of scoring late in games this season.
Although something a little less dramatic would certainly be welcomed against Preston North End on Boxing Day.
