Garry Monk has restored a feel-good vibe about Leeds United.

David Prutton has told LUTV that Leeds United’s future looks rosy under manager Garry Monk.

Leeds sit 11th in the Championship, four points off the top six ahead of Saturday’s trip to Derby County.

The 38-year-old replaced Steve Evans at Elland Road in the summer and endured a baptism of fire which yielded just one league win in his first six outings.

But the Whites boss has turned things around in fine style, with Leeds winning four of their last five Championship games, while a fourth-round League Cup clash with Norwich City also awaits them this month.

That being said, another poor run of results will see the former Swansea City boss come under pressure once more, with Monk being Massimo Cellino’s seventh managerial appointment in his two-and-a-half year reign as the club’s owner.

But ex-Leeds man and Sky Sports regular Prutton told LUTV that the future is bright for the Yorkshire club, providing the young manager is given time and patience.

“I think he’s been great. I think he needs that time and patience.

“In order to make any real progress at a club, a man like Garry needs time, patience, space to do what he wants and the right kind of resources at the right kind of times.

“It seems to be a nice little upswing that Leeds are enjoying at the moment, and I think with the manager they’ve got, and the staff they’ve got, the future should be as rosy as possible.”
