David Prutton has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that Marc Roca seems like a bargain signing at just £10million for Leeds – and that playing for Bayern Munich will “stand him in good stead” to join a club like Leeds.
Roca, 25, is expected to become the club’s third signing after Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen. Reports claim that Roca will sign a four-year deal and have a ‘leading’ role at Elland Road despite the presence of Kalvin Phillips.
It comes after a tricky couple of years at Bayern. Roca has been long admired by Victor Orta and now a move is set to go through. He has managed just 24 appearances for the German champions, since joining from Espanyol.

Speaking about a move for Roca, ex-Leeds midfielder Prutton believes that £10million is a bargain in the current world of football transfers. He also claims that playing for Bayern will help him adapt at Elland Road.
“If, as suggested, Leeds can get him for around £10m then that sounds pretty decent in today’s footballing terms,” Prutton said. “Obviously, if he signs then the proof will be in the pudding.
“That is, as to whether he is any good or not but that experience of being at a club the size of Bayern would stand him in good stead to play for a club like Leeds. They are tooling up at the right time.”
David Prutton says Marc Roca is a bargain for Leeds
Indeed, Roca was an established midfielder in La Liga and on the verge of a Spain cap when he moved to Bayern. But midfield competition has proven too much for Roca at Bayern – which is quite understandable.
They boast the likes of Leon Goretzka, Joshua Kimmich, Corentin Tolisso, Jamal Musiala and Marcel Sabitzer. It was always going to be difficult for Roca to make a name for himself at the Allianz Arena.
But now, at Elland Road, he has the chance to forge a Premier League career. Orta’s long-standing interest in him will surely be flattering and now he can show Leeds fans what all the hype is about.
