Rangers Managing Director Stewart Robertson has defended Ibrox striker Alfredo Morelos and wants VAR.

The Rangers official also suggested that VAR should be introduced in the Scottish game.
Robertson told The Scottish Sun: “We are not for foreign referees, as we want to support Scottish refs and we also want VAR brought in as soon as possible.
“We appreciate there is an implementation time for VAR but let’s start that process now and support our referees.”
Robertson also criticised the BBC for the treatment of Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos from their pundits, claiming that the Colombia international was “effectively vilified for three weeks”, as quoted in The Daily Record.
Former Celtic and Scotland international winger David Provan has given his take on Robertson’s comments.
While the Celtic legend agrees with the Rangers Managing Director regarding his comments about VAR, he has criticised him regarding his views on Morelos.

Provan wrote in The Scottish Sun: “I’m with Rangers managing director Stewart Robertson who wants more support for refs including VAR.
“As for Robertson’s claim that Alfredo Morelos is being singled out by Hampden? Maybe if the Colombian stopped kicking people off the ball, he’d attract less attention.”
Title challenge
Rangers seem to have recovered their form, and the Gers are still in the hunt for the Scottish Premiership title this season.
Although Steven Gerrard’s side are eight points behind leaders and Old Firm rivals Celtic in second place in the league table at the moment, they need to keep faith and hope that Brendan Rodgers’s side slip up in the coming weeks.
