David Provan has written in The Scottish Sun that he thinks that Eddie Howe has got advice from Brendan Rodgers regarding Celtic.
According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic are interested in appointing Howe as their new permanent manager.
However, Sky Sports have claimed that Howe’s representatives have said that he will not return to management until the summer. The Englishman has reportedly attracted interest from clubs from other Celtic as well.
Celtic legend Provan believes that the Hoops need to move on from the 43-year-old, and he thinks that Howe has been getting advice from Leicester City manager Rodgers.
Rodgers is a former Celtic manager who was a rival for Howe in the Premier League when the latter was in charge of Bournemouth.
Provan wrote in The Scottish Sun: “If I were Dermot Desmond, I’d have crossed Eddie Howe off my wish list by now. After fantasy talk of Rafa Benitez and Roberto Martinez, Celtic have been left chasing the former Bournemouth coach. The pursuit of over-hyped Howe has become embarrassing.
“Out of work for nine months since the Cherries’ relegation, this shouldn’t have been a complicated appointment. Particularly when we’re told the persuasive Desmond has met with Howe. Instead, it’s becoming a saga that could end up humiliating Celts.”
The Scotsman added: “Supposedly one of the game’s deep thinkers, I’d imagine Howe has done his homework on Celts and Scottish football. And his buddy Brendan Rodgers would have marked his card.
“You can bet Rodgers emphasised the upside of Peter Lawwell’s imminent departure from the club. Unlike Neil Lennon, Howe would be allowed to pick his own coaching staff.”

No need to rush
John Kennedy is in charge of Celtic until the end of the season, and there is no need for the Glasgow giants to rush into a decision.
It takes a while for negotiations to come to fruition, and both Celtic and Howe have to be on the same page.
Howe is a very good manager who built a strong team at Bournemouth, and like Rodgers at Celtic, he could lead the Hoops to glory.
