Graeme Murty’s Glasgow Rangers have brought Jason Cummings to Ibrox on loan from Nottingham Forest.

Rangers have signed Cummings from Nottingham Forest in the Championship in England.
The Gers have secured the services of the former Hibernian striker on loan from the Reds for the rest of the season.
Former Celtic and Kilmarnock winger Provan has admitted that he is surprised that Rangers have signed the 22-year-old Scotland international striker instead of Steven Naismith.
Naismith, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a forward, recently joined Rangers’ Scottish Premiership rivals Heart of Midlothian on loan from Norwich City in the Championship in England for the rest of the season.

According to Sky Sports, Rangers were interested in the 31-year-old Scotland international, who was on the books of the Gers from 2007 until 2012, and considered making a move for him.
Rangers are third in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment, while Hearts are currently fifth in the standings.

Provan wrote in The Scottish Sun: “I hope Jason Cummings has the brains to recognise the compliment Rangers have just paid him. Given the choice Gers had for a loan striker, I’m surprised they opted for the former Hibs man.
“Also available to Graeme Murty was Steven Naismith, a proven goalscorer in Scotland’s top flight. Naismith also cut it in the Premier League, where a hat-trick against Chelsea is among his Everton appearances. Throw in 45 caps for Scotland and his credentials put Cummings’ in the shade.
“Rangers have taken Cummings, who has never scored in any top league, and whose international record extends to a few minutes of a bounce game against Holland.
“That may be harsh on Cummings, 22, but he is at a crossroads in his career. It’s time he got the finger out and started living up to his own hype.”
