Mark Warburton’s Rangers lost against Old Firm rivals Celtic at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership last month.
David Provan has revealed in The Scottish Sun what Sunderland manager David Moyes told him about the Scottish Premiership game between Rangers and Celtic last month.
Rangers suffered a 2-1 defeat to Old Firm rivals Celtic at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on New Year’s Eve.
Mark Warburton’s side took the lead as early as the 12th minute when Kenny Miller scored, but the Bhoys staged a successful comeback and found the target twice through Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair.
Former Celtic winger Provan has revealed what Sunderland manager Moyes told him about Rangers’ performance.
The ex-Scotland international has also criticised the Black Cats’ display against Burnley on New Year’s Eve.
Sunderland suffered a 4-1 defeat to the Clarets away from home at Turf Moor in the Premier League.

“When I met David Moyes at Burnley last week he reckoned Rangers had been too open in the Old Firm match,” Provan wrote in The Scottish Sun.
“He and his Sunderland players had watched the Ibrox clash on the team bus. A few hours later and Moysie was leaving Turf Moor with a 4-1 spanking.
“Chief villain was £8m centre-back Papy Djilobodji whose performance would have embarrassed a Sunday league player.
“The Black Cats are in bother but some of that team looked completely disinterested. My old team-mate should get a knighthood if he keeps them up.”

Sunderland are third from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with 15 points from 20 matches.
The Black Cats are just a point behind 17th-placed Crystal Palace and are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
