Former Glasgow Rangers midfielder Derek McInnes recently turned down the chance to return to Ibrox and manage the Gers.

Back in May 2017, Caixinha, who was then in charge of Ibrox club Rangers, suggested to The Daily Record that Aberdeen’s cycle at McInnes was coming to an end.
The Dons have established themselves as the second-placed team in Scotland in recent years and finished above Rangers in second place in the Scottish Premiership last season.
Former Celtic winger Provan has suggested that Caixinha might be right about McInnes.

Provan wrote in The Scottish Sun: “Caixinha was ridiculed for saying McInnes was reaching the end of a cycle, but he might be right.
“With Rangers and Hearts going bust and Hibs in the Championship, the Dons had a clear run at second place. It’s only going to get tougher for them.”

McInnes recently snubbed the chance to take charge of his former club Rangers in a move that will surely delight the Aberdeen faithful.
With the former Scotland international still at the Dons, the team can achieve success this season and end up second yet again.
However, Rangers are a team on the up, and the Ibrox club can certainly end up second in the Scottish Premiership this season.
