Craig Gordon has lost his place in the Celtic starting lineup to Dorus de Vries.

David Provan has suggested in The Scottish Sun that Craig Gordon must leave Celtic in order to play regular first-team football.
Gordon has been on the books of Celtic since 2014 and is one of the best goalkeepers in the Scottish Premiership.
However, the Scotland international has lost his place in the Bhoys’ starting lineup this season following the arrival of Dorus de Vries in the summer transfer window.

De Vries, who is 35 years of age, joined Celtic from English club Nottingham Forest.
The Dutchman has featured quite regularly for the Hoops so far this season, and it seems that Gordon is now the second-choice between the posts.
Former Celtic winger Provan has suggested that Gordon, who is 33 years of age, needs to leave the Scottish Premiership giants in order to play regular first-team football.

“De Vries is undoubtedly a better footballer than Gordon,” Provan wrote in The Scottish Sun. “But is he better when it comes to making saves? Few are convinced.
“For what it’s worth, I’ll take the guy with the best hands every day of the week. It’s likely Gordon will have to leave the champions if he wants regular football.”
Gordon may have lost his place in the Celtic starting lineup for the time being, but the Scotsman should not give up just yet.
De Vries is a good goalkeeper, but the former Swansea City player could make mistakes and that could give a chance to Gordon.
Moreover, if the former Sunderland goalkeeper decides to leave Celtic Park, then he would have to find a club in England.
After all, leaving Celtic for any other club in Scotland at the moment would be a step down in anyone’s career.
