Patrick Roberts is scheduled to return to Manchester City from Celtic in the summer transfer window.
David Provan has written in The Scottish Sun that he will be sorry to see Patrick Roberts leave Celtic for Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
Roberts is currently on an 18-month loan deal from City at Celtic, but the 20-year-old winger is scheduled to return to his parent club in the summer.
The England Under-20 international has been playing well for the Bhoys and has showcased his quality in the Scottish Premiership.
The former Fulham youngster has scored 13 goals in 54 appearances in all competitions for Celtic.
Former Celtic winger Provan has admitted that he will be sorry if Roberts leaves Celtic and returns to Premier League giants City in the summer.
“Will be sorry to see Patrick Roberts leave Celtic if he returns to Manchester this summer,” Provan wrote in The Scottish Sun.
“The most gifted player in the Premiership this season, his Champions League strike against City was my goal of the season.”
Roberts has proved to be a brilliant signing for Celtic, and it would make sense for the Bhoys to try to re-sign the youngster for the 2017-18 campaign.
The 20-year-old winger is very talented and hugely promising, but he is going to struggle to break into the City first team next season.
It would make sense for the youngster to play for Celtic for one more season at least.
