Neil Lennon’s Celtic can beat Arsenal and Manchester United, says David Provan.

David Provan has suggested in The Scottish Sun that Celtic can beat Arsenal and Manchester United in the Europa League.

Celtic have booked their place in the round of 32 of the Europa League this season.

Premier League giants Arsenal and United are also playing in the European competition this campaign.

While the Red Devils have booked their place in the knockout rounds, the Gunners are likely to do so as well.

Celtic legend Provan has suggested that Neil Lennon’s side can win against both Arsenal and United in the Europa League.

Provan wrote in The Scottish Sun: “Having qualified for the round of 32, there are obvious clubs to be avoided. Five-time Europa League winners Sevilla are one of them.

“Manchester United and Arsenal? If Bournemouth and Sheffield United are turning that pair over, why wouldn’t Celtic fancy their chances against them?”

Big claim

Celtic have been superb in the Europa League so far this season, and with Arsenal and United not exactly doing great in the Premier League at the moment, the Hoops will fancy their chances of winning against them over two legs.

However, things could change between now and when the knockout stages of the Europa League start, and Celtic must not get carried away just yet and have to be keep their feet firmly on the ground.
