Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser hasn’t enjoyed his greatest season, but he could still make a big move whenever the summer window opens.
Many thought the Scot would be on the move last summer. After all, he racked up seven goals and 14 assists last term, and there was real interested in his signature.
Bournemouth stood firm though, keeping him on the South Coast. Fraser seems to have been affected by his uncertain future, and he’s bagged just one goal and four assists.
The Cherries would have hoped to keep Fraser long-term, but he has resisted any offers to stay. Now, Fraser will leave on a free transfer this summer.
His form may have tailed off, but there is still major interest. The Mirror recently noted that Fraser fancies a move to Tottenham, with Jose Mourinho keen.
Now, the Daily Mail report that Arsenal are confident of signing Fraser. It seems that Fraser is heading to North London, but a fight between the two famous rivals could now ensue.
However, pundit Davie Provan seems baffled by the rumours. He has spoken to The Scottish Sun about the winger’s future, and has questioned whether he’s good enough for Arsenal or Spurs.
Provan thinks performing for a top six side is completely different to thriving with Bournemouth, and believes he needs to learn how to cross properly in order to make the step up.
“No harm to Ryan Fraser who is being touted for a move to Spurs or Arsenal, but is he good enough?” said Provan. “The Scotland wide man has flourished at Bournemouth after leaving Aberdeen, despite Pittodrie boss Craig Brown insisting he was making a mistake.
“But doing it every week for a top-six EPL club is a different ball game. He’ll stand half a chance if he learns how to cross the ball properly,” he added.
