David Provan has claimed in The Scottish Sun that Rangers winger Ryan Kent may want to leave Steven Gerrard’s side, amid reported interest from Leads United.
The Celtic legend believes that Kent is the most important player for Rangers, and has said that the 24-year-old may want to go to a club in the Premier League if he wants to play for the England national football team.
The Scottish Sun reported last month Leeds are interested in signing Kent from Rangers in the summer transfer window, and that the Premier League club may have to pay as much as £15 million in transfer fees for the English winger.
Provan wrote in The Scottish Sun: “Ryan Kent had unsuccessful loan spells at Freiburg and Bristol City before Liverpool loaned him to Gers. So splashing £7.5m to make Kent’s Ibrox deal permanent was an expensive risk. The player has repaid Gers’ faith big time. For me, he’s now Gerrard’s most important player.”
The Scotsman added: “Morelos has made it clear he wants a bigger stage than our Premiership, while it’s likely Kent will want to prove himself back in the Premier League.
“Bottom line is if the 24-year-old fancies an England career, he will have to move south. I mean, how often do you see Gareth Southgate in Glasgow?”

Are Rangers in danger of losing Ryan Kent?
According to WhoScored, Kent has scored eight goals and provided seven assists in 33 Scottish Premiership games, and has scored two goals and provided two assists in 10 Europa League matches this season.
The former Liverpool winger has been brilliant for Rangers and has helped them win the Scottish Premiership title this season.
Leeds are a massive club and have lofty ambitions and the chance to play in the Premier League could be tempting for Kent, but staying with Rangers would also give him the chance to play in the Champions League next season.
Every player has a price, but Rangers can fend off interest from Leeds in Kent.
