Celtic legend David Provan has written in The Scottish Sun that Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has made two mistakes during his time at the Ibrox club so far.
Gerrard was appointed as the Rangers manager in the summer of 2018, and the Liverpool legend is on the verge of leading the Gers to the Scottish Premiership title this season.
Former Celtic star Provan believes that while Gerrard has been superb for Scottish football, he has made two mistakes during his time at the Gers so far.
The Scotsman does not think that the Liverpool legend should have celebrated the way he did against Celtic at Celtic Park in December 2019, and believes that the way he hammered referee John Beaton during half time in their 1-0 win against Livingston in midweek was wrong.
Provan wrote in The Scottish Sun: “Let’s be clear, for the most part Gerrard has been a voice of reason since pitching up in our little madhouse.
“Apart from that scream into the camera lens after victory at Celtic Park 15 months ago, he’s been great — until he torched Beaton in front of a nationwide audience.”

Celebrating today
Rangers need just a point from their final games in the Scottish Premiership to win the title this season.
There is a very good chance that the Gers will clinch the championship this afternoon. Celtic will take on Dundee United in a few hours’ time, and if the Hoops drop points, then they will hand the title to their bitter Old Firm rivals.
