Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers were knocked out of the Scottish Cup at Ibrox last night.

Former Aberdeen goalkeeper David Preece has mocked Rangers boss Steven Gerrard on Twitter.

Gerrard was left furious on Tuesday night as Rangers bowed out of the Scottish Cup by losing 2-0 to the Dons at Ibrox.

The Gers manager admitted in a post-match interview that he was still too angry to speak to his players after the defeat.

And Preece, who spent six years at Pittodrie until 2005, has joked that he wants the interview to be injected into his eyeballs.

You can understand Gerrard’s frustration.

By losing to Aberdeen, you could argue that Rangers also lost their best chance of winning anything under the 37-year-old, whose side are eight points behind Premiership leaders Celtic.

It certainly seems destined to be a trophy-less campaign, but there’s still a lot to be proud of whatever happens and no doubt the light Blues – who reached the Europa League proper – will be stronger next term.
