Everton are reportedly keen on Ajax winger David Neres.

Ajax winger David Neres has told Voetbal Primeur that he is happy with the club, but remained somewhat non-committal amid talk of a move to Everton.

The Amsterdam giants have enjoyed a remarkable season, reaching the semi-finals after dumping Real Madrid and Juventus out of the competition.

Tottenham Hotspur await in the semi-finals, and with Ajax also chasing the Eredivisie title, it could end up being a dream season for Erik ten Hag’s side.

Part of Ajax’s success is that their top players will attract major interest, and Frenkie de Jong will be joining Barcelona at the end of the season.

Matthijs de Ligt and Hakim Ziyech are set to be targeted by a host of clubs, with Andre Onana, Nicolas Tagliafico and Donny van de Beek no doubt on other teams’ radars.

Winger David Neres is another player starring this season, as the Brazilian has racked up 12 goals and 15 assists in all competitions, justifying why Ajax signed him after just 11 senior games at Sao Paulo.

Now, The Telegraph claim that Everton want to sign Neres this summer for around £35milion, with Arsenal also in the race for the 22-year-old’s signature.

Neres has now admitted that he’s happy at Ajax, but wouldn’t close the door on a move away, suggesting that he needs to see what is best for his family – and that will give Everton encouragement that they could tempt Neres to England.

“I have to see what is best for me, for my career and my family,” said Neres. “We will see what the future holds, but I have a contract here and I am satisfied here,” he added.
