The former Everton boss has been appointed West Ham United manager on a short-term contract.

West Ham United confirmed the appointment of David Moyes as their new manager on Tuesday.
The Scotsman is tasked in the short term of lifting the Hammers out of the Premier League relegation zone.
One of West Ham’s Achilles heels during their poor start to the season under Slaven Bilic was ill-discipline.

Their tally of 24 yellow cards from 11 matches is the highest in the division, and the sending offs of Marco Arnautovic and Andy Carroll against Southampton and Burnley respectively cost the Irons crucial points.
This rashness has also resulted in West Ham giving away four penalties, all of which have been scored.
During his 11 seasons at Everton, Moyes’s team were shown 39 red cards – more than any other top-flight team.

His Toffees side had a reputation for playing on the edge, which made them a lot more difficult to beat than West Ham have been this season, but also came at the cost of plenty of dismissals and suspensions.
Moyes has lots of things to address, but insisting on greater disciplined would not be in his nature.
