According to the Daily Mirror, West Ham United could be open to selling Declan Rice in the January transfer window – but doing so would only increase the criticism of David Moyes.

Rice has come into West Ham’s first-team on occasion this season, and he has looked at home in the Hammers’ backline.

The 18-year-old appears to have the potential to be a future West Ham captain, but already there are some doubts over his future.

The Mirror suggest that Rice could be made available to raise funds for Moyes to spend on additions in the January transfer window.

However, if Moyes does plan to offload the promising youngster to raise money for the signings he wants, then he opens himself up to further criticism.

West Ham fans value their academy products more than most, and one of the biggest criticisms of Slaven Bilic was that he failed to play some of Hammers’ youngsters enough.

And if Moyes does decide to offload Rice to raise some money, he can expect a fierce backlash from supporters at the London Stadium.
