According to the Daily Star, Sunderland manager David Moyes is set to stick with Jordan Pickford despite Vito Mannone’s return to fitness.
The young goalkeeper was handed the chance to impress this season after Mannone was ruled out of the beginning of the campaign through injury.
He has since impressed, to say the least, with a series of impressive performances despite his team’s overall struggles.

His displays have not gone unnoticed, with England manager Gareth Southgate calling up as a replacement for the injured Fraser Forster during this international break.
With Mannone now back his place in the Black Cats line-up could have come under threat, especially with the Italian recently declaring he still thinks of himself as number one at the club.

That does not appear to be the case, though, at least in his manager’s eyes. The Daily Star reports Moyes is set to stick with Pickford, starting with this weekend’s crucial clash against Hull City.
If it turns out to be true it will be a huge call from the Scot to put his faith in the youngster for what is already a relegation six-pointer.
