The Everton star was left out of the most recent squad by Sam Allardyce.
Sunderland manager David Moyes has said he believes Everton star Ross Barkley will play for England many more times during an interview with the Mirror.
The midfielder was a surprise omission from the England squad last week as new coach Sam Allardyce elected to leave him out for the World Cup qualifying game with Slovakia.
It capped off a miserable summer for the youngster on the international stage after former Three Lions coach Roy Hodgson left him sitting on the bench throughout Euro 2016.
There are now doubts about his future with the Three Lions, but Moyes has insisted he will play many more games on the international stage.
“Ross is a really talented player,” he told the Mirror.
“Ross will play for England many more times, and I think he will develop as well because there’s another stage of his career to go when he becomes one of the senior players.”
Barkley must now go on and star for Everton on a regular basis to win back his England place.
There is no denying his quality but perhaps his failure to produce on a consistent basis is what has seen him lose out this time around.
If he can fix that flaw in his game, which it appears he is determined to do under new manager Ronald Koeman, then it is hard to see him being left out for too long.
