West Ham United will need at least around 36 points to survive this season, double their current tally.

West Ham must take a point a game for the rest of the season to have a chance of staying up this season.

David Moyes cannot afford many more defeats in crucial winnable home games like they slipped to against Newcastle.

They also threw away two vital points against Bournemouth, which would have lifted the Hammers up to 13th place.

Moyes must win at least another six games to have a realistic chance of survival.

That’s one every three for the rest of the season but in reality the Scot will be targeting the following six games for all three points to help ensure safety.

West Brom at home January 2

New year and Moyes will be hoping new start for West Ham in what is arguably their biggest game of the season. Win and the Hammers will be up nearer mid table while also increasing the gap between them and their opponents to six points. Lose and the trip to Wembley to face in form Spurs looks daunting.

Bournemouth at home January 20

West Ham will want revenge against the Cherries next month and they must take the win at all costs. They will have home advantage and need to make it count.

Crystal Palace at home January 30

Back-to-back home games 10 days apart could transform West Ham’s season. Two wins will leave them looking in decent shape to stay up. Roy Hodgson’s men have it all to play for too, though, and denied the Hammers two crucial points in the reverse fixture with a 97th minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw.

Watford at home February 10

Home form is going to be vital for West Ham and while Watford have been much more impressive than the East Londoners this season but may have little to play for by February given the way their season has panned out with mid table looking their highest achievable finish.

Swansea away March 3

At the moment Swansea look like the relegation certs. A win on the road against the Swans would be a real six pointer in that it further pushes the Welsh side towards the Championship and increases the distance between them and the Hammers.

Burnley at home March 10

If West Ham manage to get wins from the above fixtures then they could effectively secure their safety on March 10 with a home win over Burnley. Sean Dyche’s side have arguably been the team of the season and have been amazing on their travels. West Ham will have to hope that changes come March or they could be faced with having to get results from daunting fixtures against the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea in their last eight games.
