Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks.
Speaking live on talkSPORT, Black Cats boss David Moyes hailed the importance of Jordan Pickford to his side’s recent resurgence in form, citing how he has exceeded expectations with his displays so far this season.
Sunderland have won three out of their last four Premier League games, with Pickford, 22, playing an integral role in those victories.
He made a fantastic save in the dying minutes of their win over Leicester City on Saturday, that eventually proved to be the difference between drawing and winning the game.

And Moyes spoke to talkSPORT, explaining how he was initially reluctant to throw Pickford in at the deep end, because of his tender years:
“He has been incredible, he really has. It is never easy to put in young goalkeepers. In his first game he made a mistake against Southampton which probably cost us a couple of points but since then I can only say he has gained us points. He has been terrific. He has won us games, he is playing with a great deal of maturity for someone so young and I can only see him getting better as he goes along.”

The Wearsiders currently sit in 18th position in the Premier League table, but are now only one point behind 17th placed West Ham United.
There is finally a positive atmosphere emanating from the club – something that would have seemed an unrealistic dream just four weeks ago, when they were rooted to the bottom of the table with just two points to their name after 10 league outings.
Next up for Moyes’ men is trip to Wales to take on Swansea City, in what will be a crucial six-pointer.
