West Ham United would have to blow nearly all their January transfer funds to bring in William Carvalho.

David Moyes wants to bring Carvalho to the London Stadium, as he feels the midfielder would offer West Ham the qualities that they have been lacking.
Sporting are said to be willing to sell Carvalho for £25 million, and that would be a sizeable chunk of West Ham’s January budget gone.

The Star suggest that the Hammers have £30 million in the new year, and spending almost all of that on one player would be a huge risk for West Ham.
While there is little doubt that West Ham have a need to sign a central midfielder, and bringing in Carvalho would offer them an injection of quality, Moyes may have to be more prudent with his spending.

If Moyes does snap up Carvalho, he may have just £5 million to spend on upgrading the rest of his squad, which will simply not be enough.
And with West Ham in their current predicament, they may have to look elsewhere, rather than blow their entire January budget on one player.
